Antonina Shevchenko

Antonina is a Kyrgyzstani-Peruvian Muay Thai fighter, mixed martial artist, and competes with the UFC flyweight division. She is the older sister of fellow UFC fighter and former UFC Flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko. Antonina Shevchenko first began fighting sports by becoming a Muay Thai Kickboxer. Shevchenko made her debut in her first IFMA World Championship Tournament of 2003. Shevchenko defeated Suzane McKell in the finals by unanimous vote. Antonina was awarded a medal of silver in 2007 and a medal of bronze in 2008, and a gold medal with gold in 2011. Then she was named IFMA World Amateur Muay Thailand Champion 2016 by the IFMA. Antonia began her professional career in 2003. She was the winner of the WKC K-1 Light Welterweight World Championship in 2012. She also won the Lion Fight Lightweight Championship in 2016 as well as the WMC and Phoenix FC World Championships in 2016. Antonina was last in action against Isa Tidblad Kskikangas in the Phoenix Fighting Championship. The fight was won unanimously. Antonina Schevchenko began career-long MMA career in 2002, with a win over Anara Baanova, during the KFK Cup of Kyrgystan. She won this fight by TKO after round 2 and the subsequent 2 matches were held in WXF X-Impact World Championships. Shevchenko was absent from MMA in order to concentrate on her kickboxing, and she made her comeback with Anissa Haddaoui at Phoenix FC 3 in 2017. Shevchenko defeated Anissa in a unanimous decision and defeated Valerie Domergue on Phoenix FC 4 in the year 2017. In 2018, she resigned from the competition and began competing in Dana White's Contender Series. Shevchenko was able to take on Jaimelene Nievera as part of Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series. Antonina utilized her strike skills in order to TKO Nievera in the clinch with knees and body. Following this victory Antonina was offered an UFC contract. Antonina Shevchenko debuted in UFC during her debut at the TUF Finals TUF Heavy Hitting fight against Ji Yeon Kim. Shevchenko took the win by unanimous decision, but she was defeated in her subsequent fight with Roxanne Modafferi by split decision. Antonina has recovered from her loss, defeating Lucie Pudilova in the UFC on ESPN Covington against Lawler by a rear-naked choke submission. She was awarded the prize of fight-of-the-night. Shevchenko lost to Katlyn and Andrea Lee in three of her subsequent fights. She defeated Ariane Lipski but she also defeated Ariane.
